This grant will purchase a new Mobile Medical Clinic,(arriving this Fall) for CHF's New Jersey program, that enables dedicated medical professionals to bring care directly to children and families in need.

SEED $10,000.00

SEED (Students for Education, Empowerment and Development), was founded in 2005 by nine university students. SEED provides scholarships for students to attend elementary and high school in Kenya and Zambia. SEED believes that through education, students will positively affect their living conditions and the conditions of their communities. This grant will be used both to fund a SEED member’s trip to Kenya to identify scholarship candidates, and for ongoing programs.

Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) $5,000.00

CCFA has identified pediatric research as a priority and is funding numerous studies nationwide that will be critical in improving the quality of care for children and teens with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis. This grant will be used to assist the pediatric research program.

Our grant will be used to support the purchase of a new Mobile Blood Donor Coach. The current coach (shown) has provided over 40% of all blood donations for 2008. In 2010, a new Webkinz-themed coach will assist the Hospital as it collects necessary and vital blood donations for patients.

St.Jude Children’s Research Hospital $250,000.00

Our donation will support vital pediatric cancer research at a facility that is world-renowned for it’s focus to this cause. We will also create a Webkinz® ‘Children’s Room’ in the Memphis Grizzlies House on the campus. Here, up to 100 patients and their families can stay and play during breaks in hospital treatments. The room will be equipped with computers and decorated with Webkinz-related art and graphics.

Canadian Diabetes Association $10,000.00

The Canadian Diabetes Association’s Camp Huronda, on Lake Waseosa in Ontario, runs a 2-week program for children with Type 1 diabetes. It is a chance for them to have fun and learn important life and health management skills in a setting that meets all of their diabetes needs. Young campers also see that diabetes need not prevent them from living a fully-engaged and healthy life. This grant goes to the Camp Huronda Campership Program, subsidizing children to go to camp who otherwise could not afford to attend.

Girl Impact $2,000.00

Girl Impact is based on a belief that collectively girls have the power to make a positive contribution to society.
Currently GI is monitoring twelve high school girls in their commitment to raise $50,000 to send girls to school in Kenya. As part of the challenge the girls are training to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Sleeping Children Around the World (SCAW) provides bedkits to children of any race and/or religion who will benefit the most; typically in underdeveloped and developing countries.
A bedkit consists of a mat or mattress, pillow, sheet, blanket, mosquito net (if applicable), clothes outfit, towel and school supplies. Bedkit contents vary from country to country depending upon local needs. No portion of a bedkit donation is spent on administration — 100% reaches a needy child. Our grant will cover the cost of 50 bed kits.

Webkinz Foundation is pleased to support the Highest Priority Needs fund at SickKids Foundation which funds the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment, the training of the brightest researchers, and improving infrastructure within The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). Our gift to SickKids Foundation is creating a playroom in the hospital where children can continue to experience fun and enjoyment, even during their time at SickKids. This grant is going toward the building of Faith Village, a community development project in Sulalta, Ethiopia. Faith Village is a multi phase project that will ultimately have a children’s home, medical examination centre, elementary school, vocational training centre and sports facilities for disadvantaged children. The initial phases will concentrate on medical care and education for hundreds of children, and will include a centre which will care for orphaned infants and toddlers.

War Child Canada $210,000.00

War Child Canada develops programs for war affected children and their families. In Sri Lanka, The Children’s Trauma Recovery Program provides programs focused on pre-school development, provision of psychosocial support, numeracy and literacy training, and nutrition and medical programs to 1,750 trauma-affected children. With this grant from the Webkinz Foundation War Child Canada can continue to provide care to these children and offer them opportunities they otherwise would not have.

Families For Children $100,000.00

Families For Children operates homes that care for destitute women and children in India and Bangladesh. They provide children with education, general care and medical care, and have workshops for skill training and business development for women. In India, many of the children go to local public schools, but there are some children who, predominantly because of health issues, cannot attend. This grant will enable Families For Children to greatly expand an existing classroom and build a second classroom within their property, to provide these children with a quality education.
