Foundation Grants: 2011
- Grahamtastic Connection
By creating a ‘lending library’ of free laptops and internet access to seriously ill kids, Grahamtastic Connection helps them keep up with their studies, and keep in touch with family, friends, teachers and classmates.
- Nellie's Shelter for Women and Children
Nellie's offers shelter and support for women and their children who experience violence, poverty or homelessness. This grant will help support an in-house Children's Arts Program.
- Amarok Society
Amarok Society's mission is to teach mothers to teach families. The Mothers of Intention project operates 12 schools in the urban slums of Bangladesh, teaching very poor mothers literacy, math and life skills such as health, nutrition, and child care. In turn, these mothers become teachers in their own neighbourhoods.
