Below we have listed some of the many organizations received donations from Webkinz Foundation in 2008. This list is by no means complete, but rather a sampling of the broad range of programs we support.

  • York University Foundation/Autism Research

York University, in Toronto, is establishing a comprehensive program that will address  autism research and treatment. This multi-disciplinary program will include an Autism Clinic, which will be a center for research and training, as well as a mentoring program, and scholarship fund. This grant will go specifically to the Sammy Graduate Scholarship in Autism Research, which supports and encourages leading minds to enter the field of autism research.
  • Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is the leading charitable funder and advocate of Type 1 (juvenile) diabetes research worldwide.
  • Katelyn Bedard Bone Marrow Association

The KBBMA was founded in 2005 by Bryan and Joanne Bedard who lost their three year old daughter to Leukemia. This organization helps to raise awareness about the bone marrow registry, provides financial support for people undergoing a bone marrow transplant, and sponsors bone marrow related research.

Since 1989, the School Lunch Association has been serving hot nutritious meals to children in Northeast Avalon Newfoundland regardless of their family’s ability to pay. They provide approximately 1,500 lunches to students on any given school day.

Samaritan’s Purse provides aid to people in need worldwide. The programs they participate in include emergency disaster relief, community development, children’s nutrition and development, and HIV/AIDS.
